FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Answers to common questions about the range of tests from YOOTEST, the indoor air quality specialist

How many Yootests do I need to use?

We recommend that you use a test for about 60 to 80 m² (650 to 850 ft²).

What molecules are analyzed?

The lists of molecules are available in the product sheet of the different tests.

How long can I keep my test before performing it?

For Benzene & hydrocarbons, Indoor Air and Formaldehyde tests, the expiry date is indicated on the back of your test.

Please be advised that beyond this expiry date, the effectiveness of the sampling badge may be altered and Yootest no longer guarantees the reliability of your samples.

Avoid taking the sampling badge out of their packaging (aluminium envelope) before taking samples, in order to avoid any risk of contamination.

If you do not use your test upon receipt, be sure to store the sampling badge in its aluminum envelope in the refrigerator until it is used.

For other tests there is no expiry date.

What precautions should be taken to sample chemical pollutants from indoor air?

Keep sampling devices out of the reach of children.

Avoid taking the sampling badge out of their packaging (aluminum envelope) before taking samples, in order to avoid any risk of contamination.

Keep your sampling badge (aluminum envelope) in the refrigerator until it is used.

Make sure that your hands are clean and dry when handling the sampling devices.

To perform your indoor air samples, place the sampling devices in a clear area on a piece of furniture (shelf, bedside table, chest of drawers), away from all sources of odors (cleaning products, candles, perfumes, etc.).

Do not place the sampling devices on furniture that is less than 3 months old or on furniture that has been restored in the last 3 months. If in doubt, place an A4 aluminum foil under the sampling device.

Do not put the sampling devices in a cabinet or drawer.

Do not expose your sampling devices to direct sunlight.

If you have purchased several Yootests to test several rooms, be careful not to mix the identifiers: for each room, the identifier indicated on the box packaging must be the same as the one indicated on the sampling sheet.

We advise you not to change any of your daily habits during this sampling period so as not to affect your results.

Why does Yootest analyze dust?

Dust concentrates many indoor environmental pollutants such as semi-volatile organic compounds (pesticides, plasticizers, combustion residues) and biological pollutants such as dust mite allergens and molds.

Dust analysis therefore makes it possible to know the level of pollution of the indoor environment by these substances dangerous to humans.

Why study indoor air over a 7-day period?

A 7-day week is representative of your lifestyle. This is why it is important not to change your habits during the collection.

Why does my test have a 12-character ID?

This is to ensure the complete anonymity of your test results.

There is no link between the results and a person.

Only you have access to the results via this unique code, randomly generated and assigned.
